Cheryl Cole snubs Wag wedding

Girls Aloud warbler Cheryl Cole has sealed her status as a bona fide National Treasure since joining Simon Cowell and co on the X Factor panel, but there are distressing signs the Geordie songbird may be getting a little too big for her Jimmy Choos.
Along with her jailbird husband Ashley, the star was roundly expected to show up at the “intimate” wedding of reality TV star Carly Zucker to Joe Cole last weekend. As a team-mate of Joe’s, Ash was understandably keen to put in an appearance, but sources reckon Chezza is so keen to distance herself from the Wag set that she put her foot down accordingly.
“Ashley wanted to go to the wedding but Cheryl didn’t because she’s been told that if she wants to become a real A-lister, then she should steer clear of the Wag crowd,” said an insider. “They had a massive row but Cheryl got her way as usual. Joe and Carly had even booked a room for them in The Hempel hotel so they would be able to have a late night.”
Of course, it’s a far cry from the heady days of 2006 when Cheryl joined the likes of Carly, Alex Curran and Victoria Beckham on their tour of Germany to support England’s European Championship campaign.
And it’s not the first time La Cole’s hinted that she has the hump with the sorry bunch of soccer-loving clothes horses. "These women don’t cook a meal for their husbands, they don’t clean, they have all the handbags they want but never do a day’s work,” she recently growled. “What kind of aspiration is that?"
However, a spokesperson for the 25-year-old star denied there’s any rift between Cheryl and her fellow Wags. “[She] had to work on her new album over the weekend. She is recording that at the same time as X Factor,” it was claimed.
